If you’re part of a nonprofit or looking to start one, you may be eligible for the Microsoft Office 365 Nonprofit Program. Let’s talk more about the program and what it can offer your nonprofit organization.
Microsoft Office 365 Nonprofit is a program that works with TechSoup and allows nonprofits access to paid Microsoft products and special features. TechSoup helps nonprofits access the tools they need to spread the word about their mission. With the program, nonprofits will either have fully donated or deeply discounted plans with access to the features that specifically help nonprofits. The services will allow them to reach new donors and volunteers easier. This makes it easier for them to move their mission forward, spread the word, and work efficiently. Key features include:
- Hosted email
- Office web apps
- Security and privacy
- Document sharing
- Group collaboration
- Web and voice conferencing
- 24/7 support
The donated plans are either Office 365 Nonprofit Business Essentials or Office 365 Nonprofit E1. They don’t include the full installed version of Office including all of your favorite programs, so you may want to choose the discounted Office 365 Business Premium or E3 licenses. Discounted plans go as low as $3 per user per month or as high as $15 per user per month.
To be eligible, organizations must be registered as a charitable organization and will need to be able to provide proof of your organization’s eligibility. You’ll create a Microsoft account, then log into the Microsoft Nonprofit Portal. You’ll need to be verified by TechSoup or one of their partners. Institutions and organizations will not qualify if they are a government entity, hospital or healthcare organization, school, academic institution, or university. Validation by TechSoup can take up to 20 business days.
